it's that time again... [Jun. 5th, 2006|12:34 am]
The College of Creative Studies

hello fellow ccs nerds and nerdettes!

tis the season for subletter-hunting. believe it or not, but a fantastic room at the fabulous student housing co-op biko will be available for summer session B starting August 5 for a smack-dab grumbulous price and fun environment. The lease lasts til September 17 and the rent is ridiculously affordable. As a single, this spacious upstairs room is just $400/month, and as a double, it is a low $253. Our house comes with a meal plan ($85/mo), which means that you do not have to go grocery shopping and you get to cook for your housemates. Additional utilities charges are $53/mo.

Co-Op living has made my college life so much more colorful, wonderful, and educational. Biko is the House of Color, and activism is an important part of being a co-oper. Currently our house is more than half CCS.

Do let me know if you are interested, because I'm interested in giving this room a good home, as its given me one.

AUDITIONS! [Apr. 4th, 2006|04:38 pm]
The College of Creative Studies

Shrunken Head Productions Presents:

Music and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim
Book by James Lapine

Originally Directed on Broadway by James Lapine

An ambivalent Cinderella? A blood-thirsty Little Red Ridinghood? A Prince Charming with a roving eye? A Witch...who raps? They're all among the cockeyed characters in James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim's fractured fairy tale. When a Baker and his Wife learn they've been cursed with childlessness by the Witch next door, they embark on a quest for the special objects required to break the spell, swindling, lying to and stealing from Cinderella, Little Red, Rapunzel and Jack (the one who climbed the beanstalk). Everyone's wish is granted at the end of Act One, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later, with disastrous results. What begins a lively irreverent fantasy in the style of “The Princess Bride” becomes a moving lesson about community responsibility and the stories we tell our children.
